Course Faculty
Dr. Aisling Clancy MD MSc MPH FRCSC
Assistant Professor University of Ottawa, Obstetrician-Gynecologist Ottawa
Dr. Clancy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She completed her Medical Doctorate at Queen’s University in 2011 and residency training at the University of Ottawa in 2016. She also completed subspecialty fellowship training in urogynecology, female pelvic medicine, and reconstructive surgery in Ottawa in 2019. She holds a master's of science (MSc) in chemistry and a masters of public health (MPH) in epidemiology.

Her academic focus is in research but I am also involved in quality improvement and resident education at the Ottawa Hospital. Her research interests include patient perceptions of care, predicting and preventing surgical complications, and developing strategies to optimize the delivery of urogynecology care. She sees women for urogynecologic, gynecologic and obstetrical care.
Dr. Caitlin Champion MD FRCSC CIP
Assistant Professor NOSM University, General Surgeon Parry Sound
Cait has been working in Parry Sound since August 2019 where operative delivery and maternal care is an important part of her surgical practice in service to her community. She looks forward to sharing her early career experiences and is keen to learn from colleagues to improve her future practice.
Dr. Naana Jumah MD FRCSC
Assistant Professor NOSM University, Obstetrician-Gynecologist Thunder Bay
Dr. Naana Jumah, an Obstetrician Gynaecologist at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and Assistant Professor at NOSM University, is an ally and advocate for Indigenous maternal health, and the recent winner of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada’s Carl Nimrod Educator Award. A Rhodes Scholar, PhD in Engineering and Harvard-trained physician, Dr. Jumah has chosen to return home to practise in Thunder Bay, where she grew up after immigrating from Ghana as a child.
Dr. Roy Kirkpatrick MD FRCSC
Assistant Professor NOSM University, General Surgeon Huntsville
Roy Kirkpatrick, MD, FRCSC, is a well known general surgeon and associate professor of surgery at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, having spent the last 29 years at the Huntsville site. He is one of six general surgeons at MAHC and came to Muskoka after a two-year stint in Papua New Guinea where he and his wife volunteered with Cuso International. He is known for his contributions to health care outside of Muskoka as a volunteer aid worker with the Canadian Red Cross Emergency Response Team, which took him to Haiti in 2010. He is currently affiliated with MSF and completed a trip to Pakistan in the spring of 2015. In addition, Dr. Kirkpatrick travels to Iqaluit annually to provide locum support for that community.

Dr. Glenn Posner MD FRCSC
Professor University of Ottawa, Obstetrician-Gynecologist Ottawa
Dr. Glenn Posner is an Associate Professor and clinician educator in the department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Ottawa. He graduated from McGill University Medical School in 1999 before moving to Ottawa for residency. After completing his training in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2004, he worked at the Montfort Hospital before moving to The Ottawa Hospital in 2009. He has served as the Director of Postgraduate Medical Education as well as the Vice-Chair of Education for his department. He is the inaugural medical director of the Simulation Patient Safety Program at The Ottawa Hospital, and the medical director of the University of Ottawa Skills & Simulation Centre. Glenn is a Simulation Educator for the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada and has served on the planning committee of Simulation Summit for nearly a decade, as co-chair or while coordinating the popular SimWars/SimTrek event. Dr. Posner’s program of research relates to the assessment of the intrinsic CanMEDS roles and patient-safety competencies using all forms of simulation.
